Covalent Technologies Introduces Extensive Suite of Products to Serve the Apache Web Server Community
Oct 24, 2000, 13 :54 UTC (0 Talkback[s]) (815 reads)

PRESS RELEASE: Covalent Technologies, the leader in products and services for the open-source Apache Web server platform, today introduced an extensive suite of products to serve the Apache Web server community, including new Web server management tools and an expansion of security and e-commerce products.

In addition to this new suite, the company also introduced professional services and training programs and expansions to its executive team (Please see today's release titled "Covalent Technologies Announces Expansion of Executive Team").

Covalent is offering its new Web server management products -- Covalent SNMP Conductor and Covalent Nettruss -- and the suite of security and e-commerce tools -- Raven SSL 1.5, Covalent Antivirus, Covalent Credator and Covalent Intrusion Detector -- through a Reseller Partner Program, as well as availability to the general public through its Web site. Customers are able to download these modular products or purchase a packaged version, which includes a copy of the product on CD, all through Covalent's Web page.

"Customers have always turned to Covalent to secure their servers using our flagship product, Raven SSL," said John M. Jack, Covalent's president and CEO. "This new suite of products will allow those customers to also get Web server management and e-commerce tools all through one vendor. To make it simple for our customers, we've enabled them to download these products through our Web site."

Covalent's new suite consists of the following products:

  • Covalent SNMP Conductor: designed to manage complex network infrastructures and help organizations ensure a specific Quality of Service. The product is based on the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), an open standard that is available for a wide range of networked devices and applications. This module adds SNMP functionality to an existing Apache Web server and operates with a variety of systems management applications including HP Openview. Covalent SNMP is HP Openview Certified allowing Covalent customers to extend the managed domain of HP OpenView to the Apache Web server. Covalent SNMP Conductor is available now.
  • Covalent Nettruss: Provides customers with the ability to setup and manage secure, dynamic Web sites without the need to compile or integrate modules. Nettruss comes with the most popular modules for the Apache Web server, which are easily installed and maintained through a graphical interface. Covalent Nettruss consists of the Apache Web server integrated with popular Apache modules such as SSL, DAV, PHP, Perl and server side Java. This product is available now.
  • Raven SSL Version 1.5: Provides Web administrators with the tools necessary for securing Internet transactions. It supports more than twenty different UNIX platforms and supplies licensed 128-bit strong cryptography in a module that functions seamlessly with the Apache Web Server.
  • Covalent Antivirus: An Apache module that automatically scans all outgoing data: HTML, Java, Javascript, binary downloads, audio streams or any other datatype. This product is also available immediately.
  • Covalent Intrusion Detector: Gives customers the peace of mind that in case of a break-in to their Web site, no defaced page will be sent out. Intrusion Detector monitors all data leaving the site and replaces any defaced content with a "temporary unavailable" notice. The event is logged and the system administrator is notified via the mechanism of choice. Covalent Intrusion Detector is available now.
  • Covalent Credator: Brings the ability to instantly verify and accept credit card orders from customers, adding an essential piece to e-commerce Web site. This product allows the Web site's HTML, Perl, PHP and Java code to accept and process all major credit cards online within seconds, through the customer's choice of clearinghouses. In addition, Covalent has partnered with clearinghouse vendors Verisign and CyberSource in addition to Internet payment gateway vendor Cybercash to optimize interoperability of Credator to their platforms. Covalent Credator is also available immediately.
