Zend Technologies launches Zend Studio 2.0
Feb 4, 2002, 18 :38 UTC (0 Talkback[s]) (3167 reads)

Ramat Gan, Israel, February 4, 2002 - Extending its leadership in PHP development, deployment and optimization software, Zend Technologies Ltd. today announced the availability of the Zend Studio 2.0. The Zend Studio is the industry's first complete PHP development platform. The "all-in-one" client-sever development package conveniently integrates all the applications developers need to code, debug and deploy advanced PHP e-commerce and business applications.

The Zend Studio 2.0 includes:

  • Zend Development Environment - combines a comprehensive editor with the industry's leading code completion engine and an integrated, top-of-the-line debugger to speed development time and significantly reduce time-to-market.
  • Zend Server Center - enables seamless integration, configuration and management of server-side components such as the Zend Studio Server, Zend Debug Server (remote version), PHP 4.1.0, and Apache 1.3.22.
  • Zend Information Center - provides a robust, context-sensitive help and PHP reference center at a click of a button.

PHP for Everyone

The Zend Studio 2.0 enables mainstream web developers to code robust PHP applications by incorporating such features as powerful code completion for HTML and all PHP constructs, integrated local and remote debugging, intuitive server administration from the convenience of a browser, and a comprehensive PHP help and reference center at a click of a button. As a result of growing demand for PHP tools across a broad range of mainstream development communities, the Zend Studio is completely platform independent and localized in English, German, French, Dutch, Japanese and Korean.

"With PHP's popularity soaring, we created the Zend Studio to address the needs of enterprise PHP and mainstream Web application developers worldwide. Over 7 million sites run PHP now and developers are increasingly eager to reduce their time to market while improving the quality of their code," said Doron Gerstel, President and CEO of Zend. "We're thrilled to introduce a product that is poised to become the de-facto PHP development tool for enterprise PHP developers and enable every mainstream Web developer to begin developing advanced PHP applications."

Leon Atkinson, author of the best-selling PHP book, Core PHP Programming says, "Zend Studio 2.0 represents another important milestone in PHP's development. With the new visual debugger, PHP programmers can spend less time finding bugs and more time programming."
