PR: Covalent Technologies introduces new server products for Apache
Jan 30, 2001, 20 :51 UTC (0 Talkback[s]) (582 reads)

At the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo, Covalent, a leader in products and services for open-source Apache Web server, unveiled new server products delivering the industry's most comprehensive security, commerce and management solutions for Apache, the world's most widely used Web server.

The company's new server products include Covalent Secure Server, Covalent Commerce Server and Covalent Managed Server. The new products combine Covalent's existing graphical installation products with Covalent's Apache add-on modules to shorten installation time considerably. Instead of installing multiple modules that can take many days to get working, customers will now be able to purchase the products as fully integrated, fully functioning bundles. This will eliminate time-intensive installation steps and will streamline management and support for a company's entire Apache infrastructure.

Covalent Secure Server is the only comprehensive security solution available for Apache. The Covalent Secure Server offers full-strength, 128-bit Secure Sockets Layers (SSL) encryption, advanced intrusion detection, virus scanning, and an easy to use graphical interface. Covalent Secure Server prevents unwanted hackers from modifying Web sites, stops the proliferation of viruses from Web sites and allows customers to respond to denial of service attacks before they incapacitate their Web sites.

Covalent Commerce Server provides a generic API for most credit card clearinghouses, enabling customers to quickly and easily enable their Web site for e-commerce. The product also includes commercial grade SSL support.

Covalent Managed Server provides rapid provisioning and easy management of Apache Web server infrastructure. The Covalent Managed Server offers a uniform environment to install and support PHP, Perl, Java, DAV or SSL. In addition, the Covalent Managed Server includes SNMP instrumentation for advanced monitoring and configuration through a range of pre-certified management frameworks such as HP Openview, CA Unicenter and others.

For companies not wishing to purchase bundled solutions, Covalent provides all the functionality contained in the servers on a modular basis. These products include Covalent SSL, Covalent Antivirus, Covalent Intrusion Detection, Covalent SNMP, and Covalent Credator. The company is committed to providing customers with a broad range of choices to fit their specific needs.
