"Israeli-based Zend Technologies Ltd., a company that provides commercial viability for the popular open-source, server-side PHP (PHP:Hypertext Preprocessor) dynamic Web scripting language, has appointed Jim Jagielski as Zend U.S. chief technology officer (CTO)."

"Jagielski, Apache Software Foundation (ASF) executive vice president, Apache Web server core developer and open-source activist, will act as PHP evangelist for Zend to communicate the benefits of PHP to the corporate enterprise."

"The new Zend U.S. CTO earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and worked at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center for a number of years. Before joining Zend, Jagielski founded the ISP and Web Hosting service, jaguNET Access Services, LLC, as well as serving as CTO for OneStopSite, LLC, a Web technologies firm."
