- Subject: Re: Re: Apache 2.0 implementation on IBM eserver iseries (AS/400) ( Mar 8, 2001, 14:23:38 )
IBM has already made available the Apache 2.0 (alpha-5 level) on iSeries. It is enhanced and can be installed through a group PTF:
http://as400service.rochester.ibm.com/s_dir/sline003.NSF/GroupPTFs?OpenView&view=GroupPTFs
Read more on APACHE for iSeries on : http://www.iseries.ibm.com/products/http/services/Apache.htm and
http://ignite400.org/html/articles/art117.htm

As you probably know better than I the source code initially comes from the ASF. IBM is in process of adding the OS/400 customization and the usual development and test processes. Currently it runs under V4R5 of OS/400 and again it is based on Alpha 5 and Alpha 5 is not recommended for use by business critical web sites.

We hope to have Apache Beta or maybe Apache GA in our next V5R1 release.
GA depends on ASF.

regards,
Harry Willemsen
