The Apache Software Foundation announced the keynote speakers for this spring's ApacheCon 2001, the annual conference and exhibition for Apache-related and open-source software. The next wave of Apache deployed projects will be discussed at the Santa Clara Convention Centre in the heart of Silicon Valley, 4 through 6 April, 2001.
ApacheCon 2001 will provide a look at the future of Apache technologies -- including expert developer insights into the open source community, key technology vendor presentations, senior Apache member talks, and the most widely attended gathering of open-source followers and observers from around the globe.
"Back in the beginning of the Apache project, it was all about collaboration and forward-thinking," said Ken Coar, Apache Software Foundation (ASF) Board Member. "ApacheCon 2001 will take that a step further, and with our guru speakers we'll begin looking at the next generation of Apache software development."
The keynote speakers include:
The conference will also feature presentations from top developers about key Apache-related and many new open source technologies. Attendees can also participate in several informal Birds-of-a-Feather sessions, Apache-related and open-source software exhibits, that are all part of ApacheCon 2001 - making the conference one of the top locales for developers to participate in the open-source revolution. ApacheCon is authorized and developed by the Apache Software Foundation, making it the best opportunity to share ideas with the people behind the effort.
"The growing open-source software movement continues to evolve, and attract more leading-edge companies and the industry's premier developers," said Lars Eilebrecht, ASF Board Member. "It's not just a Web server anymore."
