Date: Sun, 11 Feb 2001 23:25:45 -0500 From: Rodent of Unusual Size To: ApacheCon Announcement List Subject: Preliminary ApacheCon schedule now onlineGreetings!
Two items: the session schedule and event registration:
SCHEDULE:
The preliminary schedule is now available online at the ApacheCon site:
http://ApacheCon.Com/2001/US/html/sessions.html
I say it is 'preliminary' because there are still a lot of areas being fine-tuned, such as verifying the abstracts. As a result, most of the abstracts are NOT yet displayable. They should be in a couple of days; a message will be sent.
Another aspect that makes the current schedule 'preliminary' is that the BOF slots are not on the chart yet.
We have a number of 30-, 60-, 90-, and 120-minute sessions this time. There are a total of 24 sessions per day, in four rooms, plus the keynotes, plenaries, and BOFs.
In response to popular demand, we have increased the interval between sessions to 10 minutes, so there is more time to schmoze, take a bio break, or have a smoke. To do this, all sessions end ten (10) minutes before their nominal end-time, so 30-minute sessions are actually 20 minutes long, 1-hour sessions are 50 minutes, and so on.
Finally, please pay particularly close attention to the start times at this conference; some of them start at 15 minutes before or after the hour. Lunch and the coffee breaks are NOT at the same time every day!
REGISTRATION:
The registration price schedule is also available now, at
http://ApacheCon.Com/2001/US/html/registry.html
We are experiencing some delays with the actual online registration system; again, a notice will be sent out as soon as they are cleared up.
