INTERNET WIRE -- AbriaSoft, a provider of Open Source software solutions, announced today its release of Abria SQL Standard 2.1 for Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows platforms. The product integrates a secure SSL flavor of Apache, the world's leading web server with MySQL, the most popular open source database. The Windows version of Abria SQL Standard 2.1 also includes Apache/SSL and ODBC connectivity, which will give clients the ability to create applications using industry standard commercial software such as Microsoft Access, Fox Pro, Visual Basic and Clarion as front ends for MySQL.
"With the widespread acceptance of MySQL as a fast, stable SQL database, we want to give our customers the ability to use their existing front-end installations of Microsoft Access, Fox Pro and Visual Basic with our products. We believe this will give businesses the incentive they need to deploy MySQL on commercial platforms such as Microsoft Windows," says Paul Afshar, Chief Executive Officer of AbriaSoft.
Abria SQL Standard 2.1 also includes a 500-page book of MySQL and msql, published by O'Reilly and Associates, RedHat Linux 6.2 operating system, and comes bundled with 30-day installation support for registered customers. This valued package is now for sale at our corporate web site (www.abriasoft.com) for an introductory price of $99.
